Greetings on my first genealogy Blog

Welcome to my new Blog.  I will be discussing tips and tricks to find information on your ancestors and sharing information on various topics pertaining to Genealogy.

To get started I will show you my go to links that I use.

Monthly Charge Required - Ancestry is an excellent source of information.  The ability to organize your findings with trees is unparalleled.  The indexed databases of census, birth, death, and military records make searching for your ancestors fast and easy.  I would caution not trying to copy other members trees unless you can verify some of the records.  Ancestry is full of false and misleading member trees, especially English lines with false Royal Ancestry.

The best value is the yearly gift at $299 which includes World Explorer.  That breaks down to $24.92 a Month.  It usually comes out around Black Friday.  The normal price is $34.99, a 120 savings.

Free - If its free its for me - A free database that will blow you mind away.  I high recommend the catalog search function

The Place search will narrow down by State, County, and City.  From here you can find scans of deeds, wills, land transfers, books, census records etc.  I also recommend using the Titles search function to find hard to reach books. -  Access to thousands of free books on Genealogy and family histories - Another great site with thousands of free Genealogy books - Did you know that the digital book revolution was started by Google?  Google also has thousands of books available online
glorecords.blm - U.S. Bureau of Land Management Patent Records.  Free to use searchable database of ownership of original land patents. - The worlds best resource for cemetery and grave records.  It also has obituaries and family info for some individuals. - Free if you sign up for the 7-day trial. Remember to Cancel.  A great resource for obituaries. - Created by the late Leo van de Pas.  A highly accurate database of notable families of European ancestry. - Use your family search log in and upload or create a tree to download free family charts
